Job Purpose: To ensure the accurate and timely processing of supplier invoices, payments, and reconciliations in line with company procedures. This role supports the integrity of the purchase ledger and contributes to the smooth running of the overall finance function, ensuring strong financial controls and positive supplier relationships. Key Responsibilities: Processing a high volume of purchase invoices accurately and in a timely manner Matching and coding invoices Reconciling supplier statements and resolving discrepancies Preparing and processing supplier payments (BACS/Faster payments/Card payments) Managing the purchase ledger mailbox and responding to supplier queries Process expense claims. Maintaining accurate records and supporting the wider finance team as needed Requirements Requirements: Previous experience in a purchase ledger or accounts payable role Strong understanding of end‑to‑end purchase ledger processes Experience processing high volumes of invoices Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel (including VLOOKUP’s and Pivot Tables) and accounting systems (Sage 50) Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to manage deadlines and prioritise workload effectively A proactive and flexible approach to work Key Competencies A team player with a can-do attitude Forward thinking and not afraid of change Ability to challenge existing processes in a constructive way.
