Overview
Industrial Control Systems Engineering Placement Student at Phillips 66. We are looking for a student working towards a degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrical/Electronic, Control and Instrumentation or industrially biased Computer Science to join for a one-year industrial placement in Summer 2026.
Responsibilities
* Your time will be spent working on specific projects alongside experienced Engineers. You will work on a variety of real-life projects within the Controls and Automation, Multivariable Process Control optimisation, Network and Infrastructure systems and Cybersecurity fields depending on your skills or preference.
* Your assignment will normally be spent with one of the refinery disciplines teams; indicate your preferred discipline in the cover letter with an explanation of why. Failure to do so may affect consideration.
* Work with experts on advanced technology used within the process industry sector. The placement is designed to help you gain essential skills for a successful career in industry.
Qualifications And Education
* You are a motivated and proactive student who relishes a challenge, with an interest in Electrical, Control or Instrumentation in the energy sector.
* Working towards a minimum 2:1 in Chemical Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Control and Instrumentation, Computer Science or related degree (recent graduates considered).
* Good engineering/technical knowledge.
* Previous work experience through industrial summer placements, internships or related roles is valued; include this in your application, especially where you developed teamwork, organization and problem-solving skills.
