This is an exciting opportunity! We are looking for an experienced Domestic Abuse Advanced Practitioner who can provide domestic abuse support to survivors and people who use harmful behaviours within Rutland.

This is a new post and is an opportunity for the successful applicant to help shape service delivery for survivors and people who use harmful behaviours.

Our latest Ofsted report recognises that we are a ‘good’ provider (April 2024) and highlights:
“Rutland has some exceptionally skilled practitioners, who are kind and compassionate. These practitioners, who have manageable workloads, spend time with children and families, and they build positive relationships with them. This is having a positive outcomes for many children and their families.

Our vision is for all children and young people in Rutland to be happy, safe and successful. They will be supported and empowered to be the best they can be.

About you…
To be successful in the role you will need:
• Professional qualification with a membership of a professional body/NVQ Level 4 qualification or minimum of 3 years relevant experience in the field.
• Understand the issues and the impact that domestic abuse can have on individuals and families
• Knowledge of domestic abuse legislation and how it can be used to support individual’s and families
• Ability to engage individuals and families at points of crisis
• Ability to work across service areas and with partner agencies to ensure safeguarding is in place

About the role…
This is a varied role that would suit an individual who has sound knowledge in domestic abuse support and legislation.

Your skills and experience can make a significant difference to our community and the role is a diverse role working across adults and children’s services, if you would like a good work life balance and to truly make difference, then this role could be for you.
The role will require you to be able to work flexibly, which will include evenings and weekends to accommodate the needs of our children and young people.

Please note the successful candidate will require a full driving licence to travel around Rutland and the wider area.

The successful applicant for this post will be subject to an enhanced check by the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). The costs for the DBS are paid by us.


The Domestic Abuse Advanced Practitioner interviews will be held in week commencing 22 September 2025.Please be advised this could be subject to change, in which case we will give appropriate notice.
