The Role:
- Research property including authenticity, bibliography, and provenance and exhibition history
- Prepare catalogue notes and condition reports and assist with catalogue production
- Catalogue property including photography, research, footnotes, etc.
- Participate in activities that support the smooth running of the sale
- Assist clients in viewing rooms during sale week and helping with general administration
- Provide support and research on pricing and valuations
- Build an understanding of the current market and the key players, objects knowledge, and channels
- Develop own specialist knowledge Candidate's Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Art History or Decorative Arts, or equivalent industry experience
- Previous work experience in relevant art department, art setting or ideally in Art Auction
- Demonstrated ability in appraising property for catalogue research
- Strong organizational skills / attention to detail, accuracy
- Research skills including analysis and interpretation of data
- Ability to prioritize and meet tight deadlines
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with diplomacy
Salary
Circa £35,000 pa
