Senior Sous Chef

We are looking for a Senior Sous Chef to join our team — someone passionate about culinary excellence, inspiring to work with, and ready to take a leading role in delivering outstanding dining experiences.
The Role
Reporting to the Head Chef, you will assist in the management and day-to-day running of the kitchen, ensuring the team stays motivated and that all dishes meet Champneys’ high standards of quality, presentation, and nutrition. You will also be responsible for supervising the kitchen in the Head Chef’s absence and supporting staff development.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the Head Chef with menu development, incorporating the Champneys healthy-eating philosophy
* Assist in recruitment, training, management, and performance of kitchen staff
* Take responsibility for the kitchen and supervise staff in the absence of the Head Chef
* Maintain high standards of food preparation and presentation, including buffets and menu items
* Uphold and improve service and operational standards, ensuring maximum guest satisfaction
* Train the team in the Champneys healthy-eating philosophy and ensure consistent implementation
* Maintain a high level of cleanliness and hygiene in line with legislative standards
* Order food items for all outlets, monitoring price, quality, and quantity, using nominated suppliers
* Control departmental food costs, manage budgets, and minimize food waste
* Ensure accurate recording of staff hours and assist with rotas using Champneys’ systems
