About the role
We are a well regarded adult legal team dedicated to delivering high quality legal advice. There is an opportunity to join this team as a Senior Lawyer.
The work is interesting, varied and contributes to making a difference to the lives of people who reside in Dorset. The role will require providing written advice on the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Mental Health Act 1983. Representation in court will also be required for cases in the Court of Protection and in the County Court.
As a Senior Lawyer you will deal with complex cases and attend meetings with Senior managers within the Adult social care team. You will undertake formal and informal supervision (including guidance and support) to members of the adult team and when required conduct formal line management which will include monthly 1-1 meetings. You will also provide support the Business Partner and Head of Legal Service as and when required.
The members of the team are supportive of each other and work collaboratively. Flexible working is supported to ensure a good work life balance. You will be supported to develop your career and training with regular 1:1.s with your line manager.
