Remanufacturing Engineer Stockport UK | Permanent ASAP Start Salary: Up to £50,000 Benefits We're working in partnership with a long-established engineering business based in Stockport who are looking to appoint a Remanufacturing Engineer to join their team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a direct impact on the company's remanufacturing operations-supporting sustainability and the circular economy by extending the life of high-performance automotive components. The Opportunity The successful candidate will be hands-on, solutions-focused, and comfortable working in a heavy industrial environment. You'll take ownership of developing and refining remanufacturing processes and tooling, while also supporting the production team in minimising downtime and improving throughput. This is a key replacement hire with full headcount approval, offering the chance to step into a role with real responsibility and scope for progression. Key Responsibilities Lead tear-down analysis and develop new remanufacturing processes Design and refine tooling, equipment, and workflows for turbocharger components Troubleshoot production issues and improve process performance Drive continuous improvement using lean and Six Sigma methodologies Collaborate during New Product Introduction (NPI) and support the PPAP process Manage digital systems for assessing reclaimable parts Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality standards (e.g. IATF16949, ISO14001) Support procurement and commissioning of tooling and equipment (PUWER compliant) Assist with capital planning and budget proposals for new equipmentWhat We're Looking For Degree or equivalent in Engineering (essential) Manufacturing and product engineering experience, ideally within automotive or similar heavy industry Strong understanding of mechanical design (CNC, pneumatics, tooling & fixturing preferred) Experience working in a hands-on, industrial environment Knowledge of turbocharger manufacturing or remanufacturing (advantageous) Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with modern manufacturing systems A proactive, continuous improvement mindset with strong communication and teamworking skillsDesirable Skills & Qualifications Six Sigma Green Belt, Black Belt, or Lean Expert IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent (e.g. PUWER knowledge) Familiarity with FMEA, control plans, and root cause analysisThis is a great opportunity to join a well-respected, process-driven business with a strong track record and a supportive team.
