Robert Half Technology are assisting a leading social media organisation to recruit a Xero Functional Consultant on a contract basis. OUTSIDE IR35. Hybrid working - London based. ASAP start - minimum 6 months.
Role
* The Xero Functional Consultant will support the implementation, optimisation and ongoing enhancement of the organisation's Xero accounting platform and finance processes.
* Work closely with finance, operations and cross‑functional teams to gather requirements, recommend best practice solutions and configure Xero to meet business needs.
* Analyse current financial workflows, identify inefficiencies and design improvements to streamline processes and increase automation.
* Lead and facilitate workshops with stakeholders to define requirements, map processes and translate business needs into technical configurations within Xero.
* Configure, test and support Xero modules and integrations, ensuring data integrity and system performance.
* Create functional documentation, configuration guides, training materials and user support resources to enable effective usage of Xero across the organisation.
* Provide functional support during testing, deployment and post‑go‑live phases, addressing issues quickly and proposing robust resolutions.
* Keep up to date with Xero feature releases, third‑party add‑ons and industry trends to advise on opportunities for enhanced finance tooling and efficiencies.
Profile
* The Xero Functional Consultant will have proven experience with Xero implementations, configurations and support within a dynamic, fast‑moving organisation.
* Strong understanding of core accounting processes including General Ledger, Accounts Payable/Receivable, bank reconciliations, VAT handling and financial reporting within Xero.
* Capability to translate business requirements into efficient Xero configurations and practical process designs.
* Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to run workshops, communicate complex ideas simply and build relationships with finance and non‑finance teams.
* Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with attention to detail and a structured approach to system support and enhancements.
* Experience working with integrations between Xero and other systems (e.g., BI tools, payroll or CRM) is advantageous.
* Comfortable in hybrid working environments and adaptable to evolving priorities.
