About the Role
We are seeking a reliable and organised School Administrator to join a friendly and supportive school in Colchester. This is a key role within the school office, providing essential administrative and clerical support to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the school.
Key Responsibilities
Managing day-to-day school office administration
Handling pupil records, attendance and admissions data
Acting as first point of contact for parents, visitors and external agencies
Answering telephone and email enquiries in a professional manner
Supporting senior leadership and teaching staff with administrative tasks
Maintaining accurate records using school management systems (e.g. SIMS/Arbor)
Processing correspondence, reports and confidential documents
Supporting safeguarding and compliance procedures
Requirements
Previous experience in a school or similar administrative role (preferred)
Strong organisational and time-management skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Confident IT skills (Microsoft Office essential; school systems desirable)
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
A professional, friendly and discreet approach
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
