Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a highly motivated Deal Consultant professional to join our team focused on strategic initiatives. This is an individual contributor role working closely with senior management and cross-organization teams to develop differentiated strategic partnership opportunities, aligning our goals with AWS Partner capabilities and accelerating customer transformation to benefit from cloud solutions.
The ideal candidate will possess both technical depth and business experience to communicate the economic benefits of computing to IT architects, engineering teams, sales teams, and C-Level executives. They should have a strategic, long-term thinking approach regarding complex global business needs, with demonstrated ability to influence decision-makers through a consultative selling approach, leveraging previous consulting, sales, or similar customer experience.
We are looking for a self-starter who enjoys solving complex problems, works effectively with cross-functional teams, and thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment. High judgment, trustworthiness, comfort with ambiguity, strategic planning skills, quantitative analysis capabilities, and the ability to coordinate initiatives across a highly-matrixed organization are essential.

Key job responsibilities
1. Coach enterprise account teams, structure complex deals, and craft compelling proposals to address industry-specific business outcomes, resource allocation, and resolution efficiency.
2. Support decision-making with high judgment in fast-paced cycles, monitor progress, and facilitate rapid responses to customer and partner needs with agreed SLAs.
3. Provide leadership with visibility into blocked pipelines and friction points to develop mechanisms that accelerate deal velocity with #OneTeam resources.
4. Act as a trusted advisor and thought leader to sales leadership in developing commercial strategies and deals.
5. Build strong internal relationships across Amazon’s diverse business units, including Product, Professional Services, AWS Partner Programs, Operations, Engineering, Legal, Finance, and senior management.
6. Advise on commercial deal terms, understand the competitive landscape, and guide enterprise account teams in resolving complex deal scenarios and developing impactful strategies.
7. Utilize data to measure business impact, strategic costs, and benefits of partnerships; create scalable mechanisms and drive operational excellence.
8. Conduct investment analysis of cloud economics, both short-term and long-term.
