You willbe workingas amember of theASCR Ward Practice Facilitator Team.
You willbe responsible for:
* Facilitating Education Pathways forHCSWsband2 and 3 of varying agesandabilities within ASCR wards.
* Facilitating Education and guidance involvingone to one support and assessmentin practice.
* Plan, facilitate and deliver teaching on HCSW orientation and study days.
* Schedule, plan and facilitate meetings with HCSWs to monitor their progress with skills and competencies relevant to their roles.
* Working within policies and procedures and providing information for internal quality assurance as required.
You will also work alongside others inthePractice Facilitator teamto help develop a workforce with the skills, knowledge, and competence necessary to deliver effective patient care and to enhance the quality-of-service delivery.
Main duties of the job
* Facilitate HCSWs within ASCR wards to carry out best practice regarding patient care, skills and competence.
* Lead on the HCSW workstream within the Practice Facilitator team.
* Plan, facilitate and deliver teaching on HCSW orientation and study days.
* Support wider team with simulation sessions.
* Schedule, plan and facilitate meetings with HCSWs to monitor their progress with skills and competencies relevant to their roles.
* Identify HCSWs who are failing to meet targets and initiate action plan with SMART objectives to address any issues.
* Report any concerns to the line manager identifying those issues that maybe outside their level of competence.
* Support the wider Practice Facilitator Team within scope of practice.

Education/Training/Qulaifications
* Registered Nursing Associate with NMC registration
* Supporting students in practice course (SSIP)
Work Experience
* Substantial experience of working in an acute ward environment
* Confident working with IT systems
* Evidence of continual professional development
* Experience of teaching or supporting learners in the workplace
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
* Effective verbal and written communication skills
* Competent in all the following skills - physiological measurements, wound care, ANTT, catheter care, ECG, blood glucose measurement & venepuncture
* Assess clinical skills
* Able to work to agreed deadlines
