Junior Accountant – High Wycombe – £30K–£35K + Excellent Benefits
My client is hiring a Junior Accountant to support their growing finance team. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their finance career to gain wide-ranging experience across financial reporting, payroll support, compliance, and systems management. You'll be part of a collaborative environment where your development is prioritised and your work directly supports business-critical functions.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist with journal entries, general ledger maintenance, and monthly account reconciliations
* Support the month-end close, KPI tracking, and management accounts reporting
* Monitor cash flow, supplier payments, and HSBC Invoice Finance
* Help with audits, VAT returns, and statutory filings
* Maintain employee expenses and support payroll tracking
* Set up customer/supplier accounts, perform credit checks, and resolve invoice queries
* Input and manage data in Sage and EMS financial systems
* Collaborate across departments and provide backup support to AR/AP
Essential Skills & Qualifications
* Degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar (or working towards a qualification)
* 0–2 years’ experience in finance or accounting (internships welcome)
* Working knowledge of accounting principles and ledgers
* Proficient in Excel and familiar with accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks)
* Strong attention to detail, organised, and deadline-driven
* Excellent communication and a team-first attitude
Desired Skills
* Experience in Sage, EMS, or ERP systems
* Exposure to audit preparation and statutory compliance
* Familiarity with UK tax regulations
* Industry experience in tech, manufacturing, or energy
