We have an exciting opportunity on our double day shift (M-F 6am-2pm & 2pm-10pm rotating) for a dynamic Mould Shop Technician to join our Technical team. This permanent position will be well suited to an individual with a strong technical background, within the Injection Moulding Industry.
The position
Main responsibilities:
* Load/unload injection mould tools following the safe systems of work.
* Setting of production tooling and ancillary equipment in line with master settings.
* Use trouble shooting process to aid identification, reporting and action to in-process problems which affect quality and cost.
* Effective hand over from set up to production with Quality Technician and operator.
* Follow the reject escalation process and report to the Senior Technician any equipment that is failing to perform to satisfactory standards.
* Maintenance of records to confirm process is in control.
* Plan and prepare next production job well in advance of its commencement to production
* Improvement of current methods, cycles, processes to achieve better cost, quality and performance.
* Raise system requests for equipment or tooling that requires attention via the MAR and TAR databases.
* Housekeeping.
* Routine maintenance to equipment as required.
* Promote a team spirit and pride in the workplace.
Person specification:
* NVQ level 2 or equivalent in injection moulding or other related engineering or manufacturing subject ·
* Completed Apprenticeship in a related subject
* Knowledge of injection moulding process including monitoring/optimising and development of process.
* Knowledge of injection moulding machines including all safety features.
* Knowledge of injection moulding ancillary equipment including Robots/hot runner systems and mould heaters
* Knowledge of materials processing and processing temperatures.
* Basic knowledge of manual handling practices.
* Knowledge of conducting gate freeze studies.
* Knowledge of calculating residence times.
* Knowledge of Calculating projected clamp tonnage.
* Knowledge of injection mould tooling.
* Good manual dexterity skills
* Troubleshooting – Determining causes of operating errors and deciding how to rectify. ·
* Coordination
* Speaking – Talking to others to convey information effectively.
