In this long-term position, you’ll be teaching Key Stages 3 and 4, with the possibility of teaching KS5 depending on your qualifications and experience. The school is looking for a teacher who has a genuine passion for Geography and is eager to engage students in exploring the world around them.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver dynamic, engaging Geography lessons across KS3 and KS4, with potential to contribute to KS5 depending on experience.
* Differentiate lessons to meet the diverse needs of students and ensure inclusive learning.
* Track student progress, providing constructive feedback to support improvement.
* Prepare students for GCSE Geography exams, ensuring they are equipped with the knowledge and skills needed.
* Collaborate with the Geography department on curriculum planning and development.
* Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages active participation.
* Uphold the school’s behaviour policies and maintain high standards of classroom management.
* Contribute to the school’s extracurricular activities, including field trips and additional departmental initiatives.
* Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure the best outcomes for students.
Candidate Profile:
* QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or an equivalent international qualification.
* A degree in Geography or a related subject.
* Experience teaching Geography at the secondary level.
* Strong subject knowledge and a passion for inspiring students in Geography.
* Excellent classroom management skills and a proactive approach to teaching.
* Ability to adapt lessons to suit different learning abilities.
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.
* Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply for one).
