You'll be working on… (your role and responsibilities)
1. Provide site engineering duties within a geographical area of the Section. Establish the level and survey control for the works, liaising with the Survey team and setting out detailed works as per the contract drawings, ensuring checks are made regularly.
2. Assist the site management team in managing sections of the work or specific sub-contract packages.
3. Liaise with the client representative and designers over design issues or changes.
4. Take responsibility for checking and recording delivered materials to ensure all materials used on site meet specifications, including checks on subcontractor materials.
5. Carry out checks on the sub-contractor's setting out.
6. Perform quality checks in accordance with the inspection and test plan throughout the contract and record findings.
7. Establish records, calibration documents, and check registers for all instruments on site, including subcontractor's instruments. Keep accurate records for excavations, reductions, concrete pours, reinforcement, etc., and communicate with the commercial team.
8. Conduct surveys of completed works to record as-built conditions.
9. Assist in drafting method statements, task briefings, and inspection and test plans.
10. Take reasonable care for safety for themselves and others affected by their work.
11. Co-operate with their employers and others in fulfilling statutory duties.
12. Work in accordance with the Octavius Business Management System Policy and procedures.

About You… (your skills and qualities)
1. Experience in infrastructure and/or civil works, including earthworks, structures, highways, drainage, or utilities.
2. Experience working in a structured environment with other Section Engineers, subcontractors, and site management teams.
You'll Bring… (your qualifications and experience)
1. HNC/Degree in Construction/Civil Engineering or related field, or working towards institute membership (ICE).
2. Experience in setting out on civil engineering projects and managing daily activities.
3. CSCS Card.
4. First Aid Training.
