Typically the specialise in major shell and core projects in sectors such as; commercial offices, healthcare, pharmaceutical and education. Despite their size, this Tier 1 M&E Contractor has fantastic staff retention rates with a reputation for looking after their staff. They offer excellent exposure and internal training schemes with a hands-on approach to developing their staff. Role: Senior Mechanical Project Manager – London – Salary £75,000 - £80,000 £5,000 Car Allowance Full Travel Expenses Pension Healthcare or £400-£450 per day. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the mechanical shell and core packages on a commercial refurbishment, £35m M&E value, 12 story commercial office block. Construction has started with over a year still left on the programme. Role/Responsibilities: Design Management (reviewing design liaising with client, main contractor and consultants) Technical submittals RFIs – Liaison with client team, main contractor and sub contractors Value Engineering where applicable Programming of works – using MS Project or Asta project Health & Safety management (RAMs) Commercial Responsibility, assisting with sub contractor variation accounts working alongside project specific Quantity Survey. Management of variations Team Coordination (overseeing junior engineers, construction managers and supervisors) Progress meetings with sub contractors, client and internal meetings Overseeing commissioning stages Formulation of OM Manuals and client handover The ideal candidate: Will be familiar working in a fast pace environment Experience working in the commercial sector Experience managing projects to a minimum of £10M within your own discipline A minimum 5 years’ experience in a management role Ideally the candidate will have subcontracted to main contractors such as Multiplex, Mace, Lendlease and Kier.
