Associate Director - Project Delivery Practice
AtkinsRéalis is seeking an experienced Associate Director / Senior Project Manager to lead major multi‑disciplinary infrastructure projects from inception to completion within our North, Scotland and Northern Ireland (NS&NI) practice. The role will be based from our Newcastle office and involves agile work from the NS&NI offices, as well as time spent at client sites.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver the project to agreed programme, budget, and quality targets.
* Identify and agree project objectives and develop a strategy for achieving them.
* Manage contractual and commercial risks, as well as opportunities.
* Lead and develop the project team, fostering motivation, coaching, and decision‑making.
* Facilitate communication, coordination, and information flow with the client and project stakeholders, including subcontractors and partners.
* Agree commercial trading arrangements and communication plans with the Global Technology Centres in Bangalore and New Delhi.
* Own the project delivery programme and delivery plans.
* Protect commercial interests through timely invoicing, credit control, and Earned Value reporting.
* Close out the project, archive documentation, and capture lessons learned.
* Ensure delivery aligns with AtkinsRéalis values: Safety, Integrity, Collaboration, and Innovation.
About You
* Chartered Engineer/Architect/Project Manager or equivalent with demonstrable experience on large infrastructure projects.
* Desirable APM PMQ (or equivalent) recognised competence in Project Management.
* Experience deploying construction contracts (NEC3/4 or bespoke) and managing design projects to time, cost, and quality objectives.
* Familiar with BIM and 3D modelling tools for design and coordination.
* Excellent client relationship management skills and ability to bring together AtkinsRéalis capabilities to develop solutions.
* Strong understanding of assurance and compliance principles within the relevant industry.
* A proactive, detail‑oriented leader who can motivate a team and mentor less experienced members.
* Capable of working independently and effectively within a multi‑discipline team; flexible, reliable, and able to meet demanding deadlines.
* Willingness to travel across the UK and work away from home on client sites when required.

Security Clearance
This role may require security clearance. Offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance. The vetting process is delivered by United Kingdom Security Vetting (UKSV) and may require proof of UK residency of five years or longer.
