Building Surveyor – Sussex (Housing Association)
£29.50 PAYE / £37.00 Umbrella (Inside IR35)

We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Surveyor to join a respected Housing Association based in Sussex. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality maintenance services across a large housing portfolio, ensuring responsive repairs, void works, and cyclical maintenance are completed to a high standard and within budget.
Responsibilities:
Deliver a professional surveying service for responsive repairs, disrepair cases, voids, aids and adaptations, and cyclical works.
Carry out diagnostic inspections, technical surveys, and post-inspections, providing detailed reports and recommendations.
Oversee contractor performance to ensure works are completed on time, within budget, and to required quality standards.
Manage a local repairs budget of approximately £2m, ensuring spend is controlled, value for money achieved, and compliance maintained.
Support the management of insurance and disrepair claims, liaising with internal teams, residents, and loss adjusters as required.
Undertake major void inspections and ensure properties are returned to lettable standard efficiently.
Promote Health & Safety best practice across all works, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations.
Collaborate with internal departments and contractors to maintain excellent levels of customer satisfaction.Requirements:
Diploma in Surveying, Property and Maintenance (Level 3) or equivalent qualification.
Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. RICS, CIOB) desirable.
Strong knowledge of building construction, planning regulations, and housing sector compliance standards.
Proven experience delivering repairs and maintenance services within social housing.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare technical reports and liaise with a range of stakeholders.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for site visits.Contact:
