Adolescent senior early help worker

Wells
Kent County Council
Posted: 19 August
Offer description

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of vulnerable children, young people, and their families? Kent County Council is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Early Help Worker to join our team. This is a rewarding opportunity to lead early help interventions and provide targeted support across Kent, helping young people thrive and achieve positive outcomes. This role will cover Sevenoaks, Tunbridge Wells, and Tonbridge & Malling.

As a Senior Early Help Worker, you will manage a caseload of complex cases, delivering high-quality, responsive services to children, young people, and their families. You will work in various settings including schools, homes, family hubs, and community facilities, building strong relationships and implementing effective interventions. You will also support the Early Help Unit Lead in delivering innovative, evidence-based practices and contribute to developing excellent services.

We are looking for someone with a relevant Level 5 or higher qualification—such as a degree in Social Work, Youth Work, or Education—or extensive experience in a related field. You should have a strong background in early help, social care, youth justice, health, or education, with proven skills in case management, assessment frameworks, and multi-agency collaboration. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organisational abilities are essential, along with a sound understanding of safeguarding policies and adolescent development.

This role offers the chance to be part of a supportive and forward-thinking team, with opportunities for professional development and career progression. Flexibility is key, as the role involves working across the 0-25 age range and may include evenings and weekends. You will also play a vital role in Kent's Out of Court Resolutions, using the Child First Approach to assess and support young people.

This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service. It is considered a customer-facing position, and the Council has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure post holders have sufficient command of spoken English/Welsh for effective performance.

If you're ready to make a real impact and help shape the future for young people in Kent, we'd love to hear from you.
