08.00-16.30 Monday to Thursday

The Role of a MP&L Apprentice
The MP&L Planner will coordinate materials and production needs to ensure timely product assembly and delivery. The role covers three main areas:
* The Materials Planner manages sourcing, scheduling, and expediting parts and materials from external suppliers.
* The Production Planner develops and maintains production schedules and manages related documentation.
* The Logistics Coordinator oversees inventory movements, workload planning, stock counts, and kitting.
Training: The candidate will enroll in a Level 3 Business Administration program, receive on-the-job training, participate in departmental rotations, and benefit from mentorship and a strong apprenticeship network.
Responsibilities include:
* Ensuring parts and materials support production plans, maintaining supplier schedules, and expediting as needed.
* Creating and prioritizing production schedules, releasing work orders, and preparing necessary documentation.
* Reporting on production progress, work in process, and inventory levels.
* Handling logistics paperwork, stock movements, and stock counts.
* Maintaining stock levels and planning for perpetual stock counts.
* Collaborating with manufacturing managers to resolve issues.
* Updating planning parameters in MRP systems to include testing and quality assurance timelines.
* Labeling and storing inventory properly.
* Providing management reports on KPIs.
* Seeking continuous improvements to reduce costs and enhance methods.
* Communicating health and safety standards for incoming materials.
* Performing additional tasks as required.
Desired Qualities:
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel
* Strong team and customer relation skills
Personality Traits:
* Comfortable working ethically within the Defence industry
* Confident to challenge safety requirements when necessary
Qualifications:
* GCSE grade 5 or above in English, Maths, and Science
Additional Information:
* Must be aged 18+ due to site requirements
* Must have lived in the UK for at least 5 years
* Ability to pass Security Clearance
