We are recruiting for an experienced Nesting Engineer to join a leading manufacturing company based in Newcastle-under-Lyme. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong nesting software experience who is looking to develop their skills within a growing and forward-thinking engineering environment.
The Role
As a Nesting Engineer, you will be responsible for creating, managing, and optimising nested components for production. You’ll work closely with the design and manufacturing teams to ensure accurate output, minimal material waste, and efficient workflow throughout the fabrication process.
Key Responsibilities
* Create and optimise nests for laser cutting and fabrication using Boost and RADAN nesting software
* Interpret technical drawings, ensuring accuracy and manufacturability
* Liaise with the Production and Engineering teams to meet daily manufacturing schedules
* Adjust nests based on machine capabilities and material allowances
* Troubleshoot nesting issues and implement improvements
* Maintain organised documentation and ensure all nests are processed correctly for production
* Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce waste
Skills & Experience Required
* Proven experience in a similar role within manufacturing or fabrication (ideally metals/steel)
* Strong working knowledge of Boost and RADAN nesting software
* Ability to read and interpret technical/engineering drawings
* Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving ability
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* Understanding of CNC machinery or laser cutting processes (desirable)
