Job Description
Reporting to the Finance Manager in the Record to Report (R2R) Project Cost Accounting team that covers project related accounting of Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) and integration activities. The work is split between work that occurs throughout the month and work that is required for month end reporting. It involves:
1. Terms of Service Agreements (TSA) related balances
2. Integration cost accounting
3. Acquisition and disposal costs
4. Group expectational projects
5. Creating internal orders to match the requirements of each project
6. Communicating internal order details to relevant parties
7. Maintaining contractor / staff lists
8. Reviewing coding of Encrypting File System (EFS) invoices relates to the projects
9. Weekly reporting on project costs spend
10. Supporting audit and ad hoc requests
11. Accounting for any recharges in line with guidance
12. Ensuring any payroll transfer are correctly accounted for via the P&L
13. Ensuring all accruals / provisions are correctly booked and maintained
14. Completing Blackline reconciliation for project related balances
15. Ensuring costs have been posted into the correct entities and internal orders
16. Producing variance analysis and commentary
17. Completing monthly cost analysis
18. Ensuring TSA invoicing and recharges appropriately accounted for
19. Ensuring currency risk around project balances is minimised
Qualifications
20. Strong academic background, Accounting degree preferable
21. A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with experience of leading an R2R team within a large R2R function
22. Proficient skills in Excel, Word and Outlook are essential
23. Good communication skills with the ability to build good relationships
24. Experience in disposal and acquisitions will be preferred
25. Excellent knowledge and understanding of all R2R processes including best practice in R2R, people, processes and technology
26. Sound working knowledge and understanding of SSO processes and how these fit into the wider environment
27. Confident in how to lead and guide a team through challenging periods.
28. Be able to manage competing priorities and achieving deadlines, whilst delivering a high standard of work and supporting the team as and when needed.
29. Solid at building relationships with stakeholders within and outside of the organisation.
30. Evidence of making decisions at the right time based on the information available.
31. Strong people manager who actively engages and embraces talent management conversations.
32. Good presentation skills with a wide range of stakeholders, internal departments and key contact
