Job Description
This is a varied Accounts Assistant role combining core transactional duties with exposure to month-end and reporting processes.Key responsibilities include:
3. Processing purchase invoices and maintaining the purchase ledger
4. Preparing weekly payment runs
5. Supporting the preparation of VAT returns
6. Assisting with month-end close, including reconciliations
7. Taking ownership of goods in transit and stock accounting processes
8. Ensuring carriage and duty costs are accurately recorded
9. Supporting supplier invoice checks and controls
10. Assisting with payroll administration
11. Working on process improvement and ad hoc projects with the wider team
The Successful Applicant
We're looking for someone who is:
12. AAT Level 4 qualified (or strong Level 3 with experience)
13. Has 1-3 years' experience in a finance role
14. Comfortable working with Excel and accounting systems (Xero ideal)
15. Highly detail-oriented with strong numerical skills
16. Proactive, eager to learn and willing to take ownership
17. Confident working in a fast-paced, growing business
18. Any exposure to VAT, payroll, or stock accounting would be advantageous but not essential.
