As a Medical Counter Assistant, you will be a warm and friendly face for customers and patients who visit the pharmacy for their health needs including medication, consultations and advice. You must be a confident, hardworking, and a motivated team player with a keen interest in helping others. Previous experience in pharmacy preferred, however we will consider enthusiastic applicants with retail or medical background. Training will be provided.
Duties include:
* Receive prescriptions from patients in accordance to “Prescription Interception Procedure”
* Order and sort Repeat Prescriptions
* Visit local GP surgeries to pick up prescriptions or follow up queries
* Deal with customer queries and refer to pharmacist where appropriate
* Sell Over the Counter Medicines to patients
* Give appropriate healthcare advice
* Provide excellent Customer Service face to face and over the telephone
* Order and Receive Goods from suppliers in accordance to company protocol
* Promote products in a professional and ethical manner
* Advise patients of clinical services provided in the pharmacy
* Signpost to other healthcare services where relevant
* General Housekeeping – ensuring the pharmacy is clean and tidy
