Are you organised, forward thinking and looking for a challenging role? An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Family and Community Care Group for a Directorate Support/RTT Validation Clerk to join our busy team.
You will be based at the Burnley General Hospital site and will be an integral member of the Directorate Management team as we look to restore services and manage patient pathways. You will work closely with key members of the team providing administration support to the Deputy Directorate Manager, Admin Manager & Medical Secretarial team. This is a busy, demanding role and you will assist with Referral to treatment (RTT) tracking, validation & ongoing performance monitoring of RTT patients and holding list management.
We are looking for a motivated, organised person who will rise to the challenge of meeting national and local targets. Using your IT skills you will assist with the preparation of weekly reports, Patient Tracking List management and RTT validation. This is an ideal role for those wishing to further their knowledge of patient pathways within the NHS.
Main duties of the job
Applicants must be well-organised, motivated individuals who are numerate and competent in the use of Microsoft Excel. You should have good knowledge of RTT pathways or are eager to learn and an aptitude for learning new software packages.
The successful candidate will assist with auditing reports to monitor outcomes of patients and determine where pathway data needs to be reviewed or corrected using own judgement of evidence provided on computer systems, outcome letters and medical records. Support medical secretaries, admin managers with processes around the RTT pathway
Work with the Directorate management team on implementing audit and processes that will improve patient pathways.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
* Using the appropriate Trust systems in place to capture and record accurate PTL data
* Validating the weekly and monthly reports within agreed timescales
* Validating the outpatient appointment waiting list
* To work with all directorate managers to ensure that the 18 week wait incomplete data is accurate or revised when inaccuracies are identified
* Monitor the PTLs to maintain accurate waiting times throughout the patient pathway
* Other administrative activities to assist the management team

Qualifications
Essential criteria
* NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Business Admin and/or customer services or equivalent level of working experience
* GCSE Grade C or above in English Language and Math's or equivalent level of literacy and numeracy
Desirable criteria
* ECDL or equivalent Microsoft -application
* NHS RTT E-Learning modules
Experience
Essential criteria
* Extensive use of Microsoft Office including Outlook, word, excel
* Proven ability to work to deadlines
Desirable criteria
* NHS experience in an administrative or clerical environment where RTT is applicable
* Good in-depth working knowledge and operational use of NHS IT systems specifically around patient pathways and RTT rules
