The 4* Roker Hotel in Sunderland are looking for a talented Senior Sous Chef to join our culinary team.
You will be responsible for assisting the Head Chef in food production, overseeing kitchen operations, supervising cooks, and managing the culinary team. The Senior Sous chef will also function as the senior chef in charge of banqueting operations for the hotel. Duties:
- Assist the Head Chef in food preparation and cooking techniques
- Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff activities
- Ensure all food meets high-quality standards and is served in a timely manner
- Manage inventory and control food costs
- Maintain kitchen cleanliness and adhere to food safety regulations
- Collaborate with the culinary team to create new dishes and menus
- Train and mentor kitchen staff on proper cooking techniques and procedures
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of kitchen operations and equipment
- Excellent supervisory and team management skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Experience in banqueting and large scale event food production
- Minimum Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate
