About the role:
As part of the Business Systems Support Team, the Business Systems Development Officer will support the development and maintenance of key line business applications used within the Corserv group of companies.
The post holder will provide technical support for internal and external users across all companies within the Group, supporting the business to use IT effectively, and will also identify, suggest and implement IT-focused solutions that help drive the business forward.
What you'll be doing:
1. Provide first-line system support to users, managing and resolving queries through the internal BuSy case tracking system.
2. To investigate, gather and agree requirements for new or modified functionality to Corserv systems, ensuring that requirements are prioritised, testable and costed.
3. To progress change initiatives by developing project briefs, project plans, completing “as is” and “to be” models.
4. Assisting other project teams or acting as part of a project team and managing the delivery of smaller change requests.
5. Managing rd party suppliers to ensure high quality delivery to Business Systems users.
6. Managing the process of business system change from start to finish including but not limited to gathering change requests and holding change advisory board meetings.
7. Developing and implementing test plans and assist users, where needed, to complete testing.
8. Create and manage system and team documentation including processes, procedures, forms and system notes.
9. The training of end users; attending training sessions to support the end user, guiding and advising staff as and when required.
About you:
Qualifications & experience essential criteria:
Ideally you will hold NVQ level or a recognised professional qualification in a relevant subject, or the ability to demonstrate equivalent existing work-based skill and experience.
You will demonstrate ability to interpret instruction, analyse data and relay information suitably catered to a range of audience types from lay person to professional/technical, and to review requirements, specifications and define test requirements for projects (including creating simple test cases and scripts) as well as analyses and reporting of test activities and results (such as identifying and reporting issues and risks).
