WHS Plastics Ltd is a specialist supplier of plastic injection moulded components, predominately for premium vehicles in the automotive sector. We produce high quality plastic components, assemblies and systems, including exterior and interior (painted and unpainted) and functional black parts. \n\nWe recognise that it is people who differentiate our business and support the delivery of our exciting plans. We have a well-established and highly successful Apprenticeship scheme and are excited to once again offer Apprenticeship placements across a range of teams at our manufacturing plant in Larkhall.\n\nThe initial recruitment and training process will be via EKGTA (East Kilbride Group Training Association) who have been our preferred provider for many years. Partnering closely with the East Kilbride Group Training Association (EKGTA) who will provide ongoing support to each Apprentice. Our Apprenticeship Programme spans 4 yearsâ and this time will be spent learning the WHS Plastics ethos and values as well as the grounding necessary to take up a position within the specific area of training in the manufacturing environment.\n Candidates will work towards SVQ qualifications at SCQF Level 5 and SCQF Level 7. You will also be required to obtain a suitable academic qualification in an engineering discipline to at least National Certificate (NC) level, possibly progressing to HNC / HND where relevant. The programme includes all the health and safety learning you will need to be able to work on the shop floor, as well as understanding what the WHS Plastics tools and equipment are and how to apply the theory learnt to a practical working environment. \n\nFollowing this you will join an experienced team where you will gain a vast amount of experience and skills within the manufacturing environment, as you will be performing a specific job role. You will receive specific on the job training, after which you will be expected to perform that job role independently within the team environment, gaining experience of a variety of tasks within the specific department/role. All candidates must be well motivated, have good communication skills and show a desire and commitment to succeed as an Apprentice within WHS Plastics Ltd. Candidates for the vacancies must have or expect to pass at least 4 National 5 Grades at Level C or above, in English, Mathematics, Science and Technical Subjects.
