Job Overview
This position reports to the Site Material Planning Manager. The Materials Planning Team is responsible for planning, scheduling, and monitoring the movement of material through the production cycle. The planner will create manufacturing and material supply plans that achieve customer satisfaction and cost objectives, oversee delivery performance, and control inventory. This role supports Sales and Operations Planning processes in collaboration with Manufacturing, Logistics, and Procurement.
Responsibilities
* Make commitments to customer orders based on a robust material supply and capacity plan.
* Be responsible for on‑time delivery performance towards customers.
* Establish lead times for each operation to meet shipping dates and commitments according to sales forecasts or customer orders.
* Expedite operations that delay schedules and alter plans to meet unforeseen conditions.
* Manage execution of plans.
* Raise manufacturing orders.
* Raise purchase requisitions.
* Perform capacity planning.
* Manage inventory.
* Provide planning support for new projects in the factory.
* Support and drive continuous improvement ethos and methodology across the organization.
* Be proactive and responsive to customer (internal and external) requirements.
Qualifications
* Minimum 1 year of experience in planning (production planning in a dynamic manufacturing environment preferred but not compulsory).
* 5 GCSEs grade A–C (or equivalent).
* Computer literate with good understanding of ERP & Microsoft Office software.
* SAP knowledge preferred.
