Job summary

Are you a passionate and experienced cardiac nurse, looking to make a real difference in patients' recovery journeys? We are seeking a dedicated cardiac rehabilitation Sister/Charge Nurse to join our multidisciplinary team, delivering high quality, patient-centred care to individuals recovering from cardiac events.

As a Band 6 Cardiac Rehabilitation Specialist Nurse you will:

Lead and coordinate cardiac rehabilitation programmes across inpatient, outpatient and community settings

Provide expert clinical assessment, education and support to patients and their families

Work collaboratively with consultant cardiologists, exercise specialists, dieticians, other healthcare professionals and volunteers

Contribute to service development, audit and quality improvement initiatives

Main duties of the job

As a Band 6 Cardiac Rehabilitation Specialist Nurse you will:

Lead and coordinate cardiac rehabilitation programmes across inpatient, outpatient and community settings

Provide expert clinical assessment, education and support to patients and their families

Work collaboratively with consultant cardiologists, exercise specialists, dieticians, other healthcare professionals and volunteers

Contribute to service development, audit and quality improvement initiatives

Qualifications / Training


Essential

* Registered Nurse and hold active registration with Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)
* Degree level qualification relevant to role
* Professional qualification and training to lead the clinical team with relevant knowledge and skills for specialist area, including relevant formal training/qualification to deliver the required specialist skills and programmes of care
* Education and training qualification
* Evidence of mandatory and statutory essential training skills, for example, Basic Life Support, manual handling, infection control, fire etc


Desirable

* Management or leadership qualification or training
* Quality improvement training and qualification


Experience


Essential

* Experience in nursing care, knowledge and expertise relevant to the clinical area within NHS or relevant health care organisation
* Experience in clinical speciality relevant to role to be able to demonstrate the required level of professional knowledge and skills at a specialist level.


Desirable

* Experience in leading a team or service change/QI project

* Professional clinical knowledge skills and skills that demonstrate the ability to assess, plan, develop and implement programmes of care, including complex/specialist care needs
