Role Summary:
As Deputy Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of high-quality
care services across our client base. Working closely with Care Coordinator/s and the
wider care team, you will provide strong leadership, ensuring that care is safe,
responsive, and compliant with regulatory requirements. You'll play a key role in
developing staff, managing risk, and ensuring the highest standards of customer
satisfaction and safeguarding. You will work closely with the Registered Manager to
ensure high standards of care delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Management
* Support the Registered Manager in the overall day-to-day operations of the
service.
* Lead, supervise, and support the Care Coordinators and Senior Carers to deliver
effective care coordination and staff management.
* Act as a point of escalation for complex care cases, safeguarding concerns, and
service delivery issues.
* Take a proactive role in resolving staff or client conflicts, complaints, or
emergencies in a calm and professional manner.
* Supervise the Care Team and ensure that policies and procedures are upheld.
Care Delivery & Quality
* Ensure person-centred care planning and consistent delivery of care in line with
individual needs and regulatory standards.
* Conduct quality assurance activities including spot checks, audits,
supervisions, and observations of care practice.
* Oversee the implementation of Rotas, ensuring that service coverage is efficient
and meets contractual requirements.
* Support the Coordinator/s in liaising with healthcare professionals including
GPs, pharmacies, district nurses, hospital discharge teams, and social workers
Compliance & Safeguarding
* Ensure full compliance with CQC regulations, Blackdice Healthcare policies,
and safeguarding procedures.
* Lead on safeguarding investigations where necessary, working closely with
external agencies.
* Support with preparing and participating in inspections and audits, both internal
and external.
Training & Development
* Identify training needs within the care team and ensure that all staff are up to
date with mandatory and specialist training.
* Mentor and support Care Coordinators, Senior Carers, and new starters to help
them grow within their roles.
* Promote a culture of continuous professional development and learning.
* Promote a culture of psychological safety and uphold 'Open Door Policies'
Communication & Relationship Management
* Maintain effective communication between office staff, care workers, clients,
and their families.
* Ensure regular reviews and updates of care plans and communicate changes
clearly to relevant parties.
* Maintain a high level of customer service, addressing client queries and
concerns promptly and professionally.
Business Support
* Assist with recruitment and retention of care staff.
* Contribute to service development and innovation.
* Provide strategic input into service improvement plans alongside the Registered
Manager.

Essential Requirements
* Minimum NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (Level 5 desirable or willingness
to work towards)
* Experience in a senior care role (e.g. Care Coordinator or Team Leader)
* Understanding of CQC standards and safeguarding procedures
* Full driving licence and access to own vehicle with business insurance
* Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and out-of-hours where
needed depending on the needs of the business.

Pay: £34,500.00 per year
