Electrical Installation Training Officer
Location: Home based with travel across Manchester & Merseyside
Working Pattern: Full time - 35 hours per week
Salary: Up to £40,175 depending on skills and experience

The Role
As an Electrical Training Officer / Electrical Assessor, you will manage a caseload of electrical apprentices across the Manchester and Merseyside region, supporting them throughout their apprenticeship journey.
You will play a key role in ensuring apprentices remain engaged, progress successfully and achieve their End Point Assessment (EPA).
Key responsibilities include:
Supporting electrical apprentices through regular workplace visits, coaching sessions and progress reviews
Carrying out work-based assessments against apprenticeship standards and NVQ criteria
Providing clear and constructive feedback to help apprentices develop their knowledge, skills and behaviours
Working closely with employers to ensure apprentices receive the right workplace experience and training opportunities
Monitoring apprentice progress and implementing interventions where learners may be at risk of falling behind
Maintaining accurate documentation of assessments, reviews and learner progression
Supporting apprentices in preparing for their End Point Assessment
Ensuring compliance with safeguarding, Prevent, equality & diversity and health & safety requirements
Completing employer vetting and workplace suitability checks
Promoting positive attitudes towards learning, professionalism and career development
Representing the organisation at careers events, school visits and industry engagement activities
Maintaining your own continuous professional development (CPD) and staying up to date with industry standards What We're Looking For
This role would suit a qualified electrician, electrical assessor or electrical trainer who enjoys supporting others and sharing their knowledge of the industry.
Essential Requirements
NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent
Completed electrical apprenticeship or recognised industry qualification
Strong industry experience as a qualified electrician
GCSE (or equivalent) Maths and English at Level 2
Excellent communication, organisational and IT skills
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel within the region
Commitment to professional development Desirable (but not essential)
Assessor qualification (TAQA, A1, D32/D33)
18th Edition Wiring Regulations
2391 Testing and Inspection qualification
IOSH Managing Safely or other Health & Safety qualification
Previous experience as an Electrical Trainer, NVQ Assessor, Apprenticeship Coach or Lecturer
Knowledge of the building services engineering sector Applicants who do not yet hold an assessor qualification will still be considered, with support available to gain assessor credentials while in the role.
