Overview

Our client is a very successful and well established importer and distributor selling to the high street retailers and online & experiencing rapid global growth. They are looking to recruit an experienced HR & PAYROLL ADVISOR to join their team. The post holder will be expected to provide general HR support to the business and manage payroll responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

Role: HR Payroll Advisor (stand-alone role) – Stockport, 4 days in head office, 1 day work from home. FMCG import / supply chain sector.

Salary: up to £35k with a bonus-related scheme. Head office: Stockport, UK.


Responsibilities

* Monthly payroll for around 50 employees using Payscape
* Supporting all internal managers and departments
* Reporting to the HR manager based overseas
* Compliance
* Maintenance of employee personnel records
* Drafting contracts of employment & HR change notices
* Liaising with operational staff to resolve payroll queries
* Working with HR legal support to ensure policies and procedures are compliant
* Ensure systems are updated in line with changes to associates records/pay details
* Process day-to-day operation of staff payroll
* Produce weekly and monthly reports
* Recruitment activities including drafting job descriptions, liaising with recruitment agencies, arranging interviews
* Time recording and staff holiday coordination
* Generate offers of employment including contracts and onboarding documentation
* Inductions for new starters and timely sharing of induction paperwork
* Return-to-work administration
* All other HR correspondence
* Appraisal document preparation and reporting of actions to managers
* Assisting with HR policy reviews
* Supporting training needs analysis
* Requesting and following up employer references
* Providing general HR information to the business (holiday/absence standards, policy information, documentation printing, etc.)
* Analyzing data from time and attendance systems and acting on trends
* Administrative support for meetings, exit interviews, leavers process, and health and safety initiatives
* Liaising with HMRC on compliance queries


Must Have / Qualifications

* Must have at least 3 years’ experience within a similar HR and Payroll role
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Proven ability to handle private and confidential information with discretion
* Experience in a similar HR/payroll role is essential
* Strong organisational skills and adaptability
* Ability to work calmly under pressure with attention to detail
* Excellent IT skills (Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, etc.)
* Persuasive and diplomatic personality
