Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior Pharmacy Technician to join our integrated healthcare team at HMP Peterborough. The role involves delivering a high‑standard pharmaceutical service across physical, mental and substance misuse medication needs, in line with national and local policies and the security requirements of a Category B prison.
Responsibilities
* Deliver a legal, safe, high‑quality pharmaceutical service to patients within the prison.
* Complete accurate medicines reconciliations and ensure safe, timely medication administration.
* Manage general medication responsibilities, including storage, dispensing and documentation.
* Work autonomously and collaboratively with the healthcare team, providing communication both written and verbal.
* Support induction, supervision, appraisal and ongoing professional training.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential
* At least 4 GCSEs including Maths and English, or equivalent.
* Registered on the General Pharmaceutical Council, or working towards registration.
* Experience in efficient day‑to‑day running of pharmacy services.
* Full knowledge of local and national pharmacy procedures.
Desirable
* Experience performing medicines reconciliations.
* Experience advising patients on compliance and concordance.
* Experience in a secure environment.
* Experience identifying and developing medicines management and pharmacy services.
Additional Requirements
Applicants must have current UK professional registration and will be required to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service check.

Salary: £38,682 to £46,580 a year (pro rata)
