This post offers a unique opportunity to work in a highly specialised area of paediatrics and AMS.
Main duties of the job
This is a split role, with half your time spent with the Pharmacy Paediatric Team and the other half with the Paediatric Antimicrobial Stewardship (AMS)/Infection Disease (ID) Team.
1. To be an active member of the Pharmacy department and the designated clinical area, ensuring effective communication to maintain high standards of medicine use within the Trust.
2. To promote the safe, effective, and economical use of medicines by providing timely clinical services to optimise patient care.
3. To educate and train pharmacy staff, students, and trainees in paediatric pharmacy.
4. To develop and deliver clinical pharmacy services in paediatric areas, including specialised services.
5. To support the safe and effective use of medicines within clinical services.
6. To provide specialised education to meet high standards of patient care and safety.

Person Specification
* Masters Degree (4-year MPharm or equivalent) in Pharmacy.
* Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
* Postgraduate Certificate in Pharmacy Practice, with diploma or equivalent external credentialing.
* Experience in direct patient care in multiple settings.
* Experience with quality improvement projects, service evaluation, or audits.
* Mentoring and training experience.
* Proficiency with Office 365 applications.
* Postgraduate Diploma/MSc in Pharmacy Practice or equivalent experience/qualification.
* Participation in Edward Jenner Leadership Programme or similar.
* Hospital experience in paediatrics.
* Understanding of medicines budgets and funding streams.
* Experience in protocol/guideline preparation.
* Experience with Electronic prescribing systems.
Disclosure and Barring Service Check
This role requires a DBS check due to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975.
Salary: £46,148 to £52,809 per annum, pro-rata.
