Offer description

Do you have experience of working in a GP Practice, with Systmoneknowledge, and are you looking for a new challenge? We are looking for an enthusiastic teamplayer to bring their experience of general practice to replace our retiring Medical Secretary.

Ideally this would be working 20 hours over 5 days

Ability to work as part of a team

Ability to prioritise and work under pressure

Professional telephone manner and excellent communicationskills, both oral and written

Ability to be innovative

Job responsibilities

Job responsibilities

The post holder is responsible for GP medical secretarial andprocessing referrals for Choose and Book administration and associatedreferrals.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Work with GPs and clinicians to clarify unclearterminology and ensure accurate record keeping.

Type letters and referrals

Use the e-referral system to select the appropriatespecialty and clinic, providing patients with a shortlist of available servicesto enable appointment booking.

Send e-referral paperwork to patients with a coveringletter.

Type and copy medical reports, raise invoices, andmaintain invoice spreadsheets where applicable.

Handle requests for copies of medical records, including:

Sending out requests for prior payment.

Printing electronic records.

Photocopying paper records.

Sending records via recorded delivery and enteringdetails on a spreadsheet.

Take surgery post to the post box as required.

Check tasks on SystmOne, taking necessary action bycontacting patients or hospitals.

Check and action e-referral worklists.

Answer telephone enquiries relating toreferrals, reports, letters, etc.


Person Specification


Experience

* Experience of working in Primary Care
* Knowledge of Windows/Microsoft Office systems
* Experience of using SystmOne and templates
* Understanding clinical coding
* Liaising with hospitals and other medical professionals
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work flexibly
* Keep up to date with training
* Ability to work under pressure
* Excellent punctuality and timekeeping
* Knowledge of clinical software Systmone
* Experience in GP environment/Primary Care/NHS


Qualifications

* Experience of secretarial qualification or equivalent skills
* Training courses within primary care
* Knowledge of iGPR software
* Experience of secretarial qualification or equivalent skills
