What you’ll be doing If word count didn’t matter, we’d rename this role ‘Most Valuable Player in Team Finance Who Keeps Us A Well Oiled Machine Behind the Scenes’. Instead, we’ve settled on ‘Finance Assistant’. Here’s the deal: we need someone with the skills to pay the bills (literally!) and an attitude that says, "bring it on!" Are you itching to learn & ready to dive headfirst into the nutty-gritty of Pip & Nut's daily finances? If you're someone who laughs in the face of a challenge and can stay cooler than a cucumber when things get a bit wild, then you're speaking our language. You’ll be an Excel whizz, with a beady eye for spotting sneaky mistakes. But it's not all about the numbers! We’re looking for a people person who can charm the socks off our internal teams, suppliers & customers. Think you've got what it takes to be our financial superstar? In a nutshell, you’ll be: Our accounting activator - This includes things like juggling bank reconciliations (making sure our money is where it should be), sorting statements (giving every penny a purpose) & running payment errands (making sure everyone gets paid on time). You'll also be the master of our purchase and sales ledgers, keeping tabs on who we owe and who owes us, and playing a bit of a credit control detective when needed. The bank of knowledge/ knowledge of bank - Got a question from a customer or supplier? You'll be the person solving their mysteries and keeping everyone happy. Plus, you'll run our Accounts Inbox, making sure no email goes unanswered & no query falls through the cracks. Our Management Accountant's trusty sidekick - Ever dealt with Amazon claims? You'll be our secret weapon in navigating those tricky waters. You’ll be helping with everything from getting things ready to tying up loose ends like accruals, prepayments, and stock management. You’ll keep our books squeaky clean & audit-ready! You will be supporting the Financial Controller and Management Accountant with month end completion, including pre month end preparation, audit trail completion and accrual/prepayment management. Expense & Policy Pro - You'll be the guru of all things expenses. That means managing employee claims as well as getting to own & update Pip & Nut's Expense Policy. Project Support - And for those times when we need a financial whiz on a special mission? You'll be leading or lending a hand with ad-hoc business projects, making sure our managers and directors get all the juicy financial insights they need. Things we’re looking for (skills & credentials): A numbers translator. You can take complex financial information & explain it clearly to anyone in the business, making finance feel engaging, not full-on. A multi-tasking master. You’re organised and efficient, comfortable juggling multiple deadlines and prioritising your own time in a fast-paced world. A detail detective. You’ve got a beady eye for the small stuff and love digging into the numbers to make sure everything is spot on. A can-do attitude. You're full of energy & enthusiasm and ready to get cracking. An Excel-er – you’re ideally comfortable with Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, and SUMIFs. A future finance expert. Previous experience using accountancy packages (QuickBooks, Xero) is a bonus! Hold UP.
