We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Psychology Teacher to join a prestigious independent school in the borough of Merton. This is an excellent opportunity to cover a maternity leave, starting in January 2026, within a high-achieving and supportive academic environment.
The Role
The school is looking for a qualified and engaging Psychology Teacher with proven experience teaching the subject at A-Level. The ideal candidate will be adept at fostering a deep and critical understanding of the human mind and behavior. Your key responsibilities will include:
* Delivering exceptional and thought-provoking lessons in Psychology to students up to A-Level.
* Developing and implementing a rigorous curriculum that challenges students and prepares them for university-level study.
* Providing one-on-one and small-group support to ensure every student reaches their full potential.
* Contributing to the department's strong track record of outstanding A-Level results.
* Actively participating in the wider school community and its pastoral life.
Candidate Requirements
To be considered for this rewarding position, you should have:
* A degree in Psychology or a closely related field.
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent (e.g., PGCE).
* Proven experience teaching Psychology at the A-Level, with a history of achieving excellent student outcomes.
* A deep understanding of the AQA or other relevant A-Level Psychology specifications.

Salary & Application
