Category Manager, Pupil Services and Procurement
Reports To
Senior Category Manager
Job Purpose
To assist the Senior Category Manager and Head of Procurement in delivering a compliant, customer‑focused procurement service, ensuring value across the commercial lifecycle.
Principal Duties
1. Develop and manage procurement category strategies and contract reviews.
2. Lead and develop a competent category management team.
3. Build and maintain stakeholder and supplier relationships.
4. Ensure procurement activities comply with UK legislation and EA policies.
5. Provide expert advice and guidance across EA.
6. Monitor procurement performance, risk management and reporting.
7. Promote continuous improvement and innovation within EA procurement.
Essential Criteria
* Bachelor’s Degree (UK Level 6) or equivalent with at least two years experience in procurement (or five years).
* Minimum two years experience managing staff.
* At least three years experience in the full procurement and contract management lifecycle.
* Knowledge of Procurement Legislation including 2023 Act, 2015 Regulations, NIPPP and PPNs.
* Access to a suitable vehicle or alternative transport to meet mobility requirements.
* Willingness to pursue CIPS qualification.
Desirable Criteria
* Experience with e‑TendersNI system.
* Experience with Oracle Procure‑to‑Pay system.
* Ability to plan, manage and implement change.

Disclosure of Criminal Background
