Job Title: Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant – 1:1 Support

Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and nurturing SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a student with Special Educational Needs. The role involves working in Reception for half of the day and in Year 1 for the remaining half. This position offers a fantastic opportunity for those passionate about supporting young learners and making a real difference in their educational experience.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide tailored 1:1 support to a student with additional needs
2. Assist with personal care needs as required, ensuring the child’s comfort and safety
3. No planning required. The student enjoys music and stories, head bangs, and has a specific level of needs, so we are looking for an experienced TA with personal care skills who is nurturing
4. Support the child with academic tasks and social interactions, helping to build confidence and independence
5. Work closely with the class teacher and staff to ensure consistent support and progress
6. Foster a nurturing and caring environment, promoting emotional well-being
Skills & Experience Required:
* Previous experience working with children with SEN, particularly in primary schools
* A compassionate, patient, and proactive approach
* Ability to provide personal care support where necessary
* Strong communication skills and teamwork abilities
* A relevant qualification, such as Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent), is desirable but not essential
* Understanding of the challenges faced by children with SEN and how to support their learning and development
