Job Title: WW Process Operator
Location: Peel Common, Hampshire – you will also need to be willing to travel across multiple sites and have a current full driving licence. Contract Type: Permanent. Hours: 38 hours. Salary: £27,496.64. Ideally you will be based in or around the surrounding areas of Fareham/Hampshire. In Southern Water you’ll have the benefits of structured hours, with standby opportunities giving you greater earning potential.

Responsibilities
* Compliance testing.
* Maintenance tasks – unblocking pumps, screens and valves to ensure continuous plant operation.
* Repair of alarm systems.
* Monitoring, collating and reporting of data to ensure statutory and regulatory compliance.
* Fault finding and problem-solving skills are essential to respond to breakdowns.
* Site hygiene in line with regulatory obligations.
* Carrying out regular sampling to support process monitoring and compliance.
* Ensuring sampling equipment is maintained, calibrated and functioning correctly.
* Receiving and handling deliveries of chemicals, such as ferric sulphate – with full awareness of hazardous material protocols and safety procedures.
You Will Be
* Comfortable working outdoors, potentially in all weather conditions.
* Prepared to work within the company’s rota of a 7-day working week and participate on a standby rota.
* Part of a team who delivers excellent performance by understanding how you affect the overall mission of Southern Water.
* Have a good sense of humour, because of what you will be working with and not to be too squeamish.
* Adaptable, flexible, patient, reliable and self-motivated.
* Good with time management.
* Confident to work effectively and efficiently on your own.
* Keen to learn and operate complex processes with high quality controls.
* You will be part of a 1 in 6 week Standby Rota.
Qualifications
* Valid UK Manual Driver’s Licence.
Note: You do not need a background in the Water industry. Applications from candidates outside of the sector are welcome, bringing fresh perspectives and ideas. This role focuses on compliance, technical problem solving, repairing and maintenance.
