The Coborn Centre for Mental Health is a Child & Adolescent Unit based at Newham that provides assessment and treatment for young people experiencing acute mental health illness.
About the Role
We are looking for enthusiastic Staff Nurses (Band 5) to support our inpatient wards. The role involves delivering patient‑focused care, supporting patients during psychiatric emergencies, promoting a safe environment, facilitating learning and decision‑making, and ensuring patients spend no more time than necessary in locked settings.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist in the provision of outstanding recovery‑focused care as part of the nursing team and multidisciplinary team.
* Support patients during psychiatric emergencies and maintain a safe environment.
* Facilitate positive patient roles through open communication and opportunities for learning and decision‑making.
* Support other NHS trusts and community mental health teams as required.
* Maintain accurate clinical documentation and communicate effectively with the multidisciplinary team and agencies.
Qualifications & Experience
Typical requirements include:
* Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
* Experience working in acute mental health or learning disability settings.
Working Hours & Shift Pattern
Requires a mixture of shift work, including long days, twilight and night shifts.
