Job title : Agricultural Advisor Location : East Yorkshire Accountable to : EYRT Programme Manager Salary : £27 - £32,000 (depending on experience) Hours : 37.5 hours per week Term : 2 years with possible extension subject to funding The Agricultural Advisor will support the Trust’s efforts to maintain clean, healthy chalk streams by working with farmers and landowners to improve land management practices. The Advisor will promote natural flood management, creation of ponds and scrapes, restoration of ponds and wetlands, woodland creation and maintenance of hedgerows. Retention of water in the built environment is also key to the success of this role. Suds (Sustainable drainage solutions) will be promoted and established on farms and villages in target areas. The successful candidate will work with farmers, contractors, partner organisations, volunteers and other East Yorkshire Rivers Trust staff to deliver a programme of fully funded work covering all the above and will strive to develop farm clusters (working partnerships between landowners) to promote best practice. The Agricultural Advisor must have experience of project management within the Agricultural/Environmental Sector. Ideally, candidates will have at least three years experience and relevant qualifications in Agriculture and/or Environmental Studies.
