About the role
We are currently looking to recruit a skilled and motivated Information, Lead Buyer to be part of our Procurement Team based in our Head Office in Swindon, Wiltshire.
You will take responsibility for the procurement of materials, services and supporting the subcontract process by commercial teams, within a project, or section of a project.
The role also requires you to effectively manage relationships with key Supply Chain Partners and manage Categories of Materials or Services as directed by the Supply Chain Manager.
You will be responsible for developing and managing the supplier base to ensure it can meet the current and future objectives of the company.
Please note that this role will be office based 5 days per week until successful completion of your probationary period where you can then apply to work from home 1 day per week.
About you
It is essential that you have a HNC/HND in either Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or Business and Supply Management and preferably, a Level 4 diploma with CIPS.
The role requires you to have at least 2 years' experience operating as a Senior Buyer while being a procurement lead on an active project. It is essential that you have hands-on practical experience working on an active Construction or Civil Engineering site (holding an understanding of site processes etc.). Previous experience of working on NEC3 and NEC4 contracts will be a key element of this role.
You will have experience of demonstrating how you align buying activity with project goals and able to demonstrate your ability to manage Supplier relationships. You will be required to handle multiple projects at once and have the technical understanding (through site experience) to read drawings, and understand the construction needs.
