About Us
The Deli Group is a growing food business with multiple cafés and takeaway sites across Huddersfield. We are introducing a centralised Sunday Dinner service to supply freshly prepared roast dinners into our shops for collection and delivery. We are seeking a reliable, professional chef with passion for traditional British cooking and the highest standards of hygiene.
Role Overview
You will be responsible for planning, preparing, cooking, and portioning Sunday dinners from a central kitchen facility for distribution into our shops. This role requires excellent organisation, efficiency, and strict adherence to food safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare and cook traditional Sunday dinner components (roast meats, potatoes, vegetables, Yorkshire puddings, gravy, etc.).
* Work to production schedules to ensure meals are ready on time for shop distribution.
* Portion and package meals consistently and attractively.
* Maintain accurate records for temperature controls, cooking, cooling, storage, and distribution logs.
* Ensure all allergen information is correctly documented and communicated.
* Keep kitchen and equipment clean and organised in line with food safety legislation.
* Manage stock rotation (FIFO) and minimise waste.
* Liaise with distribution team to ensure smooth delivery into shops.
Hygiene & Compliance
* Hold a valid Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (minimum; Level 3 preferred).
* Follow HACCP procedures and complete all required checks (cooking, cooling, reheating).
* Wear correct PPE/uniform and maintain the highest standards of personal hygiene.
* Comply with The Deli Group's Food Safety, Hygiene, and Waste Management policies.
Skills & Experience
* Previous chef/cook experience, ideally in a high-volume kitchen, carvery, or banqueting environment.
* Strong organisational and time management skills.
* Ability to work independently and under pressure to deadlines.
* Knowledge of portion control and cost management.
* Positive attitude, reliability, and ability to maintain high standards consistently.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: £12.21-£20.00 per hour
