We are seeking a skilled Painter & Decorator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both residential and commercial painting, along with experience in various construction-related tasks. This role requires a keen eye for detail, creativity in color selection, and the ability to work effectively on multiple projects simultaneously. As a Painter & Decorator, you will be responsible for transforming spaces through high-quality painting and decorative finishes.
Duties
* Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and filling holes or imperfections.
* Apply paint, varnish, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, and airless paint spraying equipment.
* Execute residential and commercial painting projects with precision and attention to detail.
* Read blueprints and schematics to understand project requirements and specifications.
* Collaborate with contractors and clients to determine color schemes and design preferences.
* Perform plastering, caulking, and trim carpentry as needed to enhance the overall finish of the project.
* Conduct restoration work on existing structures while maintaining their original character.
* Utilize hand tools and power tools safely and effectively in various construction environments.
* Assist with renovation projects including drywall installation, concrete finishing, and masonry work.
* Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety protocols on construction sites.
Skills
* Proficient in construction estimating to accurately assess project costs.
* Strong understanding of color theory to assist clients in making informed decisions.
* Experience with industrial painting techniques for larger-scale projects.
* Familiarity with fixture installation processes for both residential and commercial settings.
* Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to painting tasks.
* Knowledge of welding techniques may be beneficial for specific projects.
* Maintenance Person experience is a plus, providing versatility across various maintenance tasks.
* Ability to read blueprints and schematics effectively is essential for project execution.

Pay: £18.00-£21.00 per hour
