About the Role
We are recruiting for a talented and passionate Senior Sous Chef to join our kitchen team at our charming privately owned 27-bedroom hotel. This is an exciting opportunity for a driven individual who enjoys leading from the front, supporting the Head Chef, and playing a key role in shaping the food offering.
You will be a strong team player, an experienced leader, and someone who is fully invested in delivering high-quality, memorable dining experiences.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the Head Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen
* Lead, motivate, and develop the kitchen team, ensuring high standards at all times
* Take an active role in menu development and planning, incorporating seasonal ingredients and current food trends
* Ensure the smooth delivery of service across all areas including restaurant, events, and private dining
* Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency
* Oversee and enforce strict food safety and hygiene standards
* Ensure full compliance with allergen awareness and regulations
* Assist with stock control, ordering, and cost management
* Step up in the absence of the Head Chef when required
Requirements
* Proven experience as a Senior Sous Chef or Sous Chef in a quality-driven kitchen
* Strong leadership skills with experience leading and developing a team
* A hands-on approach with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
* Passion for menu development and staying ahead of emerging food trends
* Excellent knowledge of food safety standards and allergen management
* A collaborative attitude and ability to work as a strong team player
* High attention to detail and commitment to quality
