Electrical Contracts Manager -Building Services
Location: Exeter | Permanent | Full-time
We’re currently recruiting for an experienced Electrical Contracts Manager to join a well-established MEP projects team based in Exeter. This is a senior leadership opportunity within a business known for delivering high-quality building services projects across both local and national portfolios.
Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, the successful candidate will take full ownership of multiple electrical projects, including traditional and Design & Build schemes. You’ll be responsible for end-to-end project delivery, commercial performance, and client satisfaction, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
The Role
As Electrical Contracts Manager, you will:

Lead the delivery of electrical projects from pre-construction through to final handover

Take responsibility for project planning, resourcing, budgets, and programmes
*
Carry out site visits, surveys, inspections, client meetings, and handovers (with occasional travel and overnight stays)
*
Provide leadership and ongoing support to project teams, monitoring performance and development
*
Manage procurement of materials, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure cost-effective delivery
*
Own the client relationship, managing expectations and resolving issues or disputes professionally
*
Prepare and present Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR) forecasts to senior management
*
Work closely with Design, Estimating, and Subcontract teams to ensure seamless project delivery
*
Drive operational performance improvements and promote continuous improvement
*
Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety legislation, statutory testing, and industry standards (IEE, NICEIC, JCT, NEC, etc.)
*
Maintain accurate project documentation, permits to work, and compliance records
*
Identify and maximise opportunities for additional works and revenue growth
What We’re Looking For
*
Core electrical qualifications (NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds)
*
HNC / HND in Electrical or Building Services Engineering (desirable)
*
Proven experience in an Electrical Contracts Manager or Electrical Project Manager role
*
Strong knowledge of Health & Safety management, including CDM Regulations
*
Commercially aware with solid financial and project management skills
*
Confident communicator with strong client relationship management ability
*
A natural leader who can manage teams, adapt to change, and perform under pressure
