Location: St. Albans, Hertfordshire
Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 per annum (DOE)
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Working Pattern: Primarily office-based
About the Company
Our client is a dynamic and growing contractor based in St. Albans, specialising in M&E Design & Build, Category A & B Fit Out, and Refurbishment projects. With a strong portfolio in commercial spaces and specialist medical healthcare environments, they deliver high-quality, technically complex projects across London and the Southeast.
Projects range between £50k-£10m.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage all commercial aspects of multiple projects simultaneously.
* Prepare and manage project budgets, cost plans, and cash flow forecasts.
* Conduct tender analysis and procurement of subcontractors.
* Administer contracts and manage variations, valuations, and final accounts.
* Liaise with clients, consultants, and project teams to ensure commercial success.
* Provide accurate and timely cost reporting to senior management.
* Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and company procedures.
* Mentor and support junior QS staff as required.
Requirements
* Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
* Minimum 5 years' experience in a Quantity Surveying role, with at least 2 years at a senior level.
* Proven experience in M&E Design & Build, Fit Out, or Refurbishment projects.
* Experience working on healthcare or commercial sector projects is highly desirable.
* Strong knowledge of JCT or NEC contracts.
* Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant QS software (e.g., Bluebeam, CostX, or similar).
* Full UK driving licence.
