Job Description: IT Project/3rd line Engineer Location: Kent, nr Westerham Duration: Permanent with Hybrid working Salary: 40-48k DOE Benefits Role Description My client is a well-established MSP with over 25 successful years in business. They are looking for a full-time Project/3rd Line Engineer located near Westerham, Kent. You will be part of the wider technical team; be responsible for providing high-level technical support for client issues that have been escalated by the Junior Service Desk Engineers. You will work with a variety of technologies providing project delivery, consultancy and high-level support joining our friendly, supportive team as a key member. We are looking for someone who has: In Depth Knowledge of networking principles (VLAN, Routing etc) Advanced knowledge of virtualisation technologies (ESXi/Hyper-V) Understanding of fault severity and customer impact Knowledge of Anti-Virus Products Understanding of Microsoft domain model and security principles In depth knowledge of Server OS & Desktop OS In depth knowledge of server technologies i.e. Exchange/SQL Understanding of license compliance and anti-piracy measures. Advanced knowledge of firewalls including services such as NAT, SSL, VPN, LDAP and IDS Ability to identify, resolve & suggest preventative measures for phishing, hack attacks, social engineering, and malicious intrusion. Advanced Active Directory, Exchange, and Office 365 administration & troubleshooting. Advanced knowledge of back up technologies Knowledge of data protection legislation Ability to install, configure and troubleshoot issues with: Desktop and laptops with Microsoft operating system and office applications as well as Mac operating systems Utilities such as Performance monitor, Wireshark, Packet Monitor Managed Anti-Virus solutions. Networking equipment Managed switches/Wi-Fi Access Points and printers Hardware components and associated software and drivers Backup technologies (Physical & Virtual servers) Server Roles (Active Director, DHCP, DNS) Firewalls (NAT Policies, Firewall rules, VPN) VOIP technologies (ISDN, SIP, AA/IVR) Microsoft 365 including tenant account set up SSL Certificates We are looking for someone who: Works well within a team or on their own where required. Full Driving Licence. Has strong communication skills. Ability to work remotely and on Client sites Has a natural aptitude for troubleshooting and problem-solving. Embraces continual change and process improvement. Can express ideas and information clearly and concisely. Plans and manages own workflow daily to ensure the achievement of KPIs. Demonstrates a passion for customers and delivering service excellence. Proactively keeps up to date with technologies. You will be coming from a similar Project/3rd line support technician role or perhaps you've done your time as a 2nd line engineer and it's your time to take the step up.
